Using about an 8 second shutter speed and a tripod for minimal movement, I was able the capture car headlights driving by.

  1. Hi Sam, I'm a blogging friend of your mother's and Oliver. I wanted to stop by and tell you that your photos are wonderful! I read back about your award and took a look at that collection. All are beautiful, but that rainbow in front of the waterfall is spectacular!

My son is also a photographer, though he is a bit older than you (by a LOT!) and he works with two other photographers. He has been all over the U.S. and some other countries on photo shoots and loves it! Stick with it, you have a good eye!

Have you ever done any stop motion videos using stills? I'm going to do a post next week about a new camera my son is trying out. I think you would like it, it is very cool!

  2. Hello-- Found your blog through Blogs of Note. I'm an amateur photography. I haven't been doing as much photography lately (it gets a bit busy sometimes), but my favorite form to play around with is long exposure! I'm feeling inspired to grab the camera again!

I'll be keeping up with your blog!

  3. I know what you mean! I only post photos 4 or 5 times a month...long term exposure photography is also among my favorite types and I thrilled my photos have inspired you to go out and shoot some more.

  4. I've done this before at night and it is quite fascinating how a vehicle can be reduced to just a few lines of light. lovely work!
